Roadrange: Southampton Golf Range, Southampton NY

It is with some sadness that we approach the outer Hamptons en route to our final destination. I had a great time in Montauk--golf, dog-swimming, plenty of tasty food from the ocean.

Roadgolf: Bethpage State Park, Black Course, Farmingdale NY

I’m currently in the thick of off-peak season, so what an odd time for me to be attempting golf at one of the hardest courses in North America. But it was an occasion I couldn’t pass up. Recently I found out that I have a cousin once-removed who’s a high school golfer in Southern California. He’s potentially Ivy League material, and so now that school’s out for summer he’s flying into NYC to check out a few universities here in the Northeast as well as attend a little pre-college golf camp.

Roadgolf: Lido Beach GC, Hempstead, Long Island

It turns out that one of my local haunts, Marine Park GC, has a sister. She's called Lido GC. It's that time again. Some people celebrate their birthdays with cake. For the last few years I've celebrated with a round of golf at a nice, non-New York City course.

Roadrange: Spring Rock Golf Center, New Hyde Park, Long Island

After a week of no-golf, I was starting to get a little itchy. My parents had spent a few days visiting the city, and when it was time to drive them to the airport I thought I might as well find a place to pound some balls while we're out in Queens.

P&P: Robert Moses GC, Babylon, Long Island

Time to take a break from all the hand wringing and tournament prepping and experience some golf in the way it was probably originally meant to be enjoyed--by the seaside and with some good company.

P&P: Cedar Beach GC, Babylon, Long Island

Along the south shore of Long Island exist three (that I know of so far) state-owned and operated seaside pitch and putt courses. Over the holiday weekend we headed to one of our old favorites, the beach at Robert Moses State Park, about an hour outside of the city.
