Roadrange: Southampton Golf Range, Southampton NY

It is with some sadness that we approach the outer Hamptons en route to our final destination. I had a great time in Montauk--golf, dog-swimming, plenty of tasty food from the ocean.

These are strange, wondrous times we live in. Back in the analog era, you didn’t just hop in the car and drive for hours to some strange area without a specific idea of what you were going to do once you got there. You had to plan. Make calls. Unfold maps.

Roadrange: San Juan Hills CC, San Juan Capistrano CA

Last time I was out this way, I was really disappointed to find the driving range at Saddleback College, where I’d had some nice practices in past years, closed for good.

But Orange County is not exactly a golf wasteland and so where one door was closed, another open one was found without looking too far.

Roadrange: Hopkins Golf Center, Brunswick, Maine

We're hanging around Brunswick today, and I am in charge of the dog while Ms. Legit checks out the local art museum.

Roadrange: Saddleback Golf Driving Range, Mission Viejo CA

I got pretty ticked off about the driving ranges all being closed on account of some morning rain. I didn't want to leave California without settling that score.

I am ripshit annoyed at the moment. If you have a profanity filter on your browser, might as well switch it on. First a little setup. Early this morning a light, steady rain began to fall here in south Orange County; it continued until just past noon.

Roadrange: Edgewater Golf Range, Edgewater NJ

Located across the Hudson River on the New Jersey side, the Edgewater Golf Range is a place I've passed by quite a few times over the years. The sign isn't much, in fact you cannot even see it from the street.

After a week of no-golf, I was starting to get a little itchy. My parents had spent a few days visiting the city, and when it was time to drive them to the airport I thought I might as well find a place to pound some balls while we're out in Queens.
