Roadgolf: Wild Turkey, Crystal Springs Resort, Hardyston Township, NJ



A few years ago I played a rough round at Crystal Springs. When you drive out of the main resort parking lot, you pass through the front nine of the Wild Turkey course and on that day, after struggling mightily on the eponymous course--one of the most tricked-up tracks you'll ever see--Wild Turkey looked so inviting, so broad and expansive. My interest was piqued and ever since I've hoped to come back and play it someday.

Roadgolf: Lido Beach GC, Hempstead, Long Island


It turns out that one of my local haunts, Marine Park GC, has a sister. She's called Lido GC. Okay, so maybe neither of these places recognizes the other as a sibling, or even the other's right to exist for all I know. But they do share the same mother, which is the south shore of the landmass known as Long Island and the same dad, Robert Trent Jones. You see I am not making this up. They are in fact related.

Jack Nicklaus. The man. Legend. What do you need, an introduction? For any of you snots out there reading this, Jack Nicklaus was like, the Jordan Spieth of his time. Actually he was like the Jordan and the Jason Day, rolled into one.
